Rules & Regulations

The code of conduct, as envisaged below is the summary of what every student of Birla Vidya Niketan is expected to follow:

  • Students are required to wear their school ID Card and bring their school diary with them every day.
  • Punctuality and regularity in attendance are essential. If a child comes late for the first & second time, a remark will be written on the special page given in the school diary. On third late coming, parents will have to come to school and take their ward back home. In case the student arrives late and does not have his school diary, parents will have to come and take their ward back even if it is the first or the second time the child is late.
  • Students who were absent the previous day must bring a signed leave application from their parents upon their return. If a student is unwell, he/she should stay home and not attend school.
  • Students must come to school in neatly laundered uniform and polished shoes. Hair should be trimmed and nails must be cut regularly. Trinkets, jewellery, expensive and electronic watches are not to be worn in school.
  • The name, class and section of the pupil should be clearly marked on all belongings of the students. Students are forbidden to carry objectionable literature or expensive items to school. The school does not take responsibility of lost articles, money etc.
  • Carrying cell phones, iPod, walkman, calculators, smart watches or any other gadget to school is strictly prohibited. If a student is found to possess any gadget, it will be confiscated and will be destroyed. However, in case of need if a student has brought cell phone etc., it must be deposited with the class teacher / office and taken back at the end of the day.
  • Any student found in possession of any kind of drugs, e-cigarettes, vape or any such prohibited items will be strictly dealt with, leading to disciplinary action.
  • Misuse of social media, bullying of any kind, posting objectionable material and appropriating other's belongings will be viewed very seriously, leading to disciplinary action.
  • Acts involving foul language, physical assault, abuse, or indiscipline shall not be tolerated and will result in strict disciplinary action.
  • Students are strictly forbidden to leave the school premises during regular school hours. They are also not allowed to leave their class without the permission of the teacher. Also, while moving in between classes in the corridors, they should be orderly and quiet.
  • Students are expected to keep their surroundings clean and adopt eco-friendly ways to care for the environment. They are not permitted to burst crackers, play with colours or use plastic water bottles.
  • Buying eatables from street vendors is strictly forbidden.
  • No child is allowed to bring gifts, eatables of any kind for distribution in school.
  • A student must extend due courtesy and respect to all. Respect for elders and affection for the juniors should be soundly inculcated.
  • Students are not allowed to drive scooty / motorcycle / cars to school.
  • In addition to the tiffin, students must carry a morning snack to be eaten during attendance time.

Guidelines for Parents

  • Parents are requested to cooperate with the school in ensuring that their child follows the rules of conduct and discipline laid down by school. On issuing school, they must be instructed and carry their brochure / identity card.
  • Parents are also informed that the school's website / brochure / reports etc. may use photographs of school children in order to reinforce best practices and achievements. Any parent having an objection to this should flag it with the class teacher.
  • Students will be taken out of school, during school hours, for various competitions, visits etc. No prior permission from parents will be taken in this regard. However, any parent who doesn't wish to send his / her ward for the same must let the class teacher know at the beginning of the session.
  • The school will communicate with parents using the School App / School Website / WhatsApp channel. Any communication sent from the school should be noted / acted upon promptly. Parents must meet the teachers with prior appointment or as and when scheduled.
  • A sick child should not be sent to school even if there is a test / exam. Parents are required to send a duly signed leave application for their ward's absence from school for any reason. In case of medical leave, a medical certificate by a government doctor must be attached with the leave request and it must be sent on the day the child joins school.
  • Parents must send an application to the class teacher for any genuine reason their ward is unable to wear proper uniform.
  • Change of any information like address, phone no. etc. must be immediately communicated to school in writing.
  • The school is working on 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays. The students / parents may take prior appointments to meet the teachers, in case required.
  • Parental participation in school activities will be deeply appreciated.
